Introducing a Brand
The North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Department did not have a brand. There are many branded programs in the department, but the department itself, a voice for Transportation planning in the region and the first way most people interact with NCTCOG, did not have a brand of its own. This meant that the visuals used in interactions with elected officials, public meetings, and even social media were disjointed and random. Under the supervision of our team Communications Manager, and with collaboration from the rest of the Communications team, I wrote and designed a brand for our department.

Overall, the brand is quite straight-laced and formal as a government entity. However, there is room within it for quite a bit of fun, when the need arises. The poster to the right is an example of a brand-adjacent event poster hosted by a handful of our programs that used our brand colors with a State Fair of Texas theme to create a whole lot of fun.
